BRIDAL FAQ

Are you comfortable working with extensions?

Yes! No matter the type of extension our stylists are all comfortable working with them. We highly recommend extensions for our bridal clients. If you are using clip in extensions or a halo the stylist must install them and there is an additional fee. If you have any questions about the type of extensions you should use we are more than glad to assist you.

When should I schedule my trial?

Trials are for bridal clients only. We do not offer trials for mothers or the bridal party. We typically suggest trials be scheduled 30-60 days prior to the wedding date so that all factors are as close as possible to the big day (weather, hair length and condition). Currently all trials are Mon-Wed (some Sundays) before 5pm. We ask that you please reach out at least 30 days prior to the time you would like to book your trial so that we can ensure availability. We can not guarantee trial availability if you reach out past the 30 day requirement.

What is the best prep for my hair on the day of?

Clean, dried hair is preferred. Please do not arrive with dirty greasy hair. Please do not arrive with wet hair. We do not blow dry hair. Those with a more dry texture can have 1-2 day old hair if that helps to reduce the frizz. The best prep for styling and longevity is to prep the hair with a mousse and blow dry. Those with textured or curly hair that are not wanting to wear their natural texture must smooth their hair with a high tension blowdry as much as possible the night before. Keep in mind if you choose to flat iron your hair the day before the curl will be much more relaxed and will not last as long the next day.

How should I choose my style?

When searching for your style there are a few factors to keep in mind. Weather, Will you be dancing?, Hair Length, Hair Density, Dress Style, Outdoor or Indoors?, Are you using Extensions?, Hair Color. When searching on pinterest get specific “ Bride updo for medium length brown hair” “flower girl style for short hair” “ Mother of the bride hair thick and curly”. From our experience, if the client is most comfortable wearing their hair down they should choose an all down of half up style. Make sure to also find a photo of how you would like the front of the style to look, as this is the most important part for the client.

How long will it take per person?

Typically 1 hour per person. Some will take much less and others will take more depending on their hair  density, length and style chosen. So an hour per person is usually what it averages out to in the end, this  also ensures nobody is feeling rushed over and everyone gets the experience they need. For Example a  party of 5 will be 5 hours and a party of 10 will also be 5 hours as there will be 2 stylists. Having an additional 30 mins before and after scheduled in is also preferred as it gives a good cushion of time so  nobody is feeling rushed. For Example a party of 5 would be 6 hours total if you were to include the 30  minute cushions before and after. We firmly believe it is better to have more time and finish early, than  have less and be running behind or late.

What style should I choose for my bridesmaids?

It is up to you whether all the bridesmaids are styled the same or differently. It is also up to you if you want them to choose their own style or if you will be making the choice. Having a couple of styles of your choice for your bridesmaids to select can help them make a decision. If they are choosing their own style make sure they are choosing bridesmaid styles and not intricate bridal styles. You are the star of the day and often times bridesmaids will unintentionally choose a style that draws the attention towards them and away from the bride. If searching on pinterest a great example is “Simple bridesmaid style for long hair” “bridesmaid updo to the side”

How do you manage large bridal parties?

For parties of 7 or more there will be 2 stylists. There is an additional stylist fee ($100.00) that will be added (this is a one time fee and not a fee per service). Make sure to check with your venue to see if there are any restrictions on when you all will be allowed to arrive and get ready. For venues with a strict restriction or that do not allow the required time a separate location may need to be used.

Do you offer discounts?

No discounts are offered at this time.

Can I make changes to my booking information?

Yes! Wedding planning can be hectic and we understand if things change. All information must be final 60 days prior to the booked date. After the 60 days no changes can be made.

Does the bride get styled first?

We typically recommend the bride gets styled in the middle after having makeup completed. That way the most important person is not rushed over at the end, but you still have a chance to relax in the beginning.

If my venue has a time restriction can we get ready somewhere else and then finish at the venue?

No. We currently do not offer the option to get started at one location and pack up and head to a second location to finish. If your venue has time restrictions that do not allow for the appropriate getting ready time we suggest getting ready at a separate location.

Can I try multiple styles at my trial?

Trials are typically for one style only unless the style can be easily transitioned into the next style. Example: All down into a half up half down, Half up half down into a similar updo or braid style, low pony into an updo. We can discuss your style options at the trial to see if this is possible.

Someone in my bridal party or family is particular about their hair and on the fence/reluctant about getting their hair styled. Should I add them to the service list?

It is not offensive to us if someone does not want to get their hair styled. We firmly believe that nobody should be forced to receive a service if they are not comfortable.

How do you handle payment?

Payment is taken on the day that services are rendered. If the bridal party is paying separately we ask that all payment be gathered ahead of time and paid in one sum to us on the day of. Taking separate payments on the day of can get very hectic and cuts into the getting ready time. We accept Cash/Card/Venmo. NO CHECKS

Are we supposed to tip the stylists?

Tipping is optional but appreciated.

I am having a destination wedding and may not be able to do a trial is that ok?

Yes! Majority of our clients are from a different state. If you do not get a trial we will make sure to add a little extra time on the day of to go over any concerns and do a thorough consultation before we get started.

What is an additional stylist fee for?

For parties of 7+ a second stylist will be booked. This ensures larger bridal parties will be styled in a timely manner.

What is my travel fee?

The travel fee covers expenses for the stylists to pack up their equipment and travel to the venue or getting ready location. If you are getting ready in Knoxville the fee is $30. If you are getting ready outside of the Knoxville area the travel fee is $50.
